The right scope.
A clear fee.
Affordable business valuation options start with an appropriate scope. Discuss the evidence, deliverable and fee for your UK business or shareholding.
What affects a business valuation fee?
The number of entities, quality of financial information, share structure, valuation date and intended reliance can all change the amount of work. A forecast-based analysis or a report for a specific purpose may need more input than an initial planning discussion.
What happens after you enquire?
- We clarify your purpose, timetable and the business or interest being valued.
- We identify the information needed and any specialist evidence or scope limitations.
- You receive the proposed scope, deliverable and fee to consider before work begins.
- The analysis and conclusion are delivered according to the agreed engagement.
No fixed fee or turnaround is advertised here because the scope has not yet been established. Your enquiry does not commit you to an engagement.
What should I prepare?
Start with recent accounts, current management figures, ownership details and a short explanation of your decision. You do not need to upload these through the enquiry form.
Control the cost of preparation
Affordable business valuations should still answer the right question. We discuss a proportionate engagement instead of advertising a one-size-fits-all fee. Information quality, ownership complexity and required reliance affect the work.
Build one consistent information pack
A single reconciled financial pack, current cap table and list of material contracts can reduce avoidable follow-up. Label forecasts clearly and explain unusual costs. Sending several inconsistent versions can create more work than a short note identifying an unresolved gap.
Agree what the quote includes
Ask whether the proposal includes a written report, a discussion of the findings, factual corrections and subsequent questions. Check VAT and any additional charges. If the purpose changes, a revised scope may be needed; the cheapest initial quote is not necessarily the lowest total cost.
Protect the essential analysis
A restricted budget does not make unsupported assumptions reliable. Discuss whether a narrower permitted use is appropriate, or whether more preparation is needed before a meaningful conclusion can be reached. For disputed ownership, required procedures and evidence should be identified before comparing fees.
Work is prepared by an ICAEW Chartered Accountant within the agreed engagement. There is no universal low-price or guaranteed saving claim.
